010 - The Road to Avengers vs. X-Men

Have you felt a little lost with all the Avengers vs X-Men news going around? Not sure where to start? Fear not, for the Mixed Marvel Arts Podcast has returned with a plus-sized episode covering the major events leading up to this summer's hottest story. This episode will also be somewhat of a collectors' item as we will be experimenting with a new format over the next few downloads. You'll get all the same MMA content you know and love, except spread out in more manageable doses. The beginning Quick Thwips sees Brian rejoice at the return of baseball season, only to have his good mood dashed by his less than enthusiastic Canadian cohosts. Avengers Alliance dominates Shaun and Brian's gaming habits, and the group tackles their first fan feedback from Johnny T. Impulse, T. Dogg, and John Crutchfield. News (23:55) covered includes Ms. Marvel’s gig as the new Captain Marvel, Matt Fraction's new Hawkeye book, and a movie rumor roundup. 

Comics covered in the Pullbox Soapbox (36:55) were: Avengers #24.1, Avengers Academy #28, Avenging Spider-Man #5, Ultimate Spider-Man #9, Uncanny X-Men #9, and Shaun reviews Marvel's newest digital comic format with Marvel Infinite #1. The Storyline Spotlight (1:17:10) focuses on a few of the main events that play a big role in the Avengers vs. X-Men battle royale. Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Messiah Complex, Messiah War, Second Coming, and the Children's Crusade.
