008 - Wilde Vengeance

Welcome back to another episode of the Mixed Marvel Arts Podcast. The second recording of February was pushed back due to some technical difficulties and hectic scheduling, but fear not, it has arrived. In addition to this latest production, the team will be getting their next recording up next week! That's two MMA Podcasts in as many weeks; now that's something to get excited about. Just like the guys were excited to see Nic Cage's latest turn as the Ghost Rider in the Spirit of Vengeance movie... yeah, not exactly. But they were excited by an unplanned interruption courtesy of Olivia Wilde.

In the newly-named, Quick Thwips opening segment, the trio discusses the non-Marvel related entertainment they've been watching, playing or listening to. Shaun is displeased with a death in the Walking Dead television series and Nate expresses his satisfaction with death metal bands. In news (21:20), Shaun covers the departure of Hickman from the Fantastic Four titles, the latest character designs for the new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, and Marvel's lawsuit with one of Ghost Rider's co-creators.

Comics covered in the Pullbox Soapbox (35:36) were: Avengers Academy #27, the Avengers Movie Prelude #1, Ultimate Spider-Man #8, and X-Men Legacy #262. In honor of the Spirit of Vengeance, Nate and Brian give two Throwback Pullbox Soapboxes covering Ghost Rider: Ghost Rider, volume two, #54, and Daniel Way's initial run at the beginning of Ghost Rider, volume six. Finally, in case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, the Storyline Spotlight (1:06:21) focuses on the movie Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
